BMW M6 introduced AT L.A. AUTO SHOW

BMW chose the January 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show to introduce the long-awaited M6. This even-hotter version of the already impressive-performing 6-Series coupe packs a 500-hp V10 engine mated to a 7-speed manual transmission -- potent enough for 4.5-second 0-60 mph times according to BMW.

The new M6 is externally recognizable by unique styling cues, including front-fender side gills and unique rocker panels. Although not apparent from the outside, the M6 also has an unusual carbon-fiber roof -- an industry first, says BMW.

The M6 is scheduled to arrive in dealers Spring 2006, with a sticker price starting around $96k.
