Dodge Charger Super Bee, Vintage
Color Scheme Revisit Glory Days
Dodge announced that it will soon
reintroduce several legendary names from the division's
muscle-car past. First, Dodge this Spring will bring
back the TorRed exterior color for the 2006 Charger
Daytona RT. The TorRed name and hue were first introduced
more than three decades ago. This latest TorRed scheme
is the third of Dodge's "Heritage" colors,
following "Go ManGo!" and "Top Banana."
The TorRed Charger will be followed
this Fall by the debut of the 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8
Super Bee (shown above). The
car will be easily identifiable by its "Detonator
Yellow" exterior color with black hood and deck-lid
face, along with Super Bee logos on front and rear fenders.
Interior revisions include unique contrasting yellow
stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and shift knob.
The Super Bee's
brash visual style will be backed by stout mechanicals,
namely a 6.1-liter Hemi V8 that puts out 425 hp -- enough
to blast the Super Bee to low-five-second 0-60 mph times,
according to Dodge.
Dodge first used the Super Bee
name for 1968, as part of the Coronet line. The name
continued through 1971, when the Super Bee was offered
as an option on the Charger. Pricing for the 2007 version
hasn't been announced yet.
