Saleen s331 super truck revealed at Los angeles auto show

Saleen used the January 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show to give the public a preproduction taste of its latest offering, the Saleen Sport Truck S331. This fortified Ford pickup will come in two basic flavors, both with a 5.4-liter V8.

One version will be naturally aspirated and put out 325 hp at 5,000 rpm and 400 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. Topping that iteration of the S331 is the supercharged version, which puts out 450 hp at 5,200 rpm and 500 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm.

Also part of the S331 goodies are unique 23-inch forged wheels with high-performance tires. Buyers can also get such extras as a heavy-duty toolbox, or racks for bikes and guns.

According to Saleen, the S331 will start around the high $30k neighborhood for the naturally-aspirated model, high $40k range for the supercharged version.
